Do I need fishing experience?

None at all. Your captain and guide set up the rods and reels, bait your hooks, and stay with you through the whole trip. Most of our guests have never fished from a boat before. Experienced anglers enjoy it too, but this tour is built so a complete beginner catches fish.

What kind of fish will I catch?

It depends on the season, the tide, and the conditions on the day. Snapper, jack, and barracuda are the most common. Your captain fishes these waters year-round and will run to the spots that are producing that week.

How long is the tour and what time does it start?

Approximately seven hours. We depart Hopkins Village at 8:00 AM and return around 3:00 PM.

Where do we meet, and is hotel pickup included?

When the sea is calm, we meet you right on the beach or dock closest to your hotel in Hopkins Village — no transfer needed, you walk out and step onto the boat. If seas are rough on the day, we'll drive you to the marina and depart from the sheltered launch instead. Your captain checks conditions the morning of your tour and lets you know the plan.

Can I keep the fish I don't eat?

Yes. Snapper, barracuda, and other eating fish are yours to keep. Belizean law protects a few species — bonefish, permit, and tarpon are catch-and-release only, and Nassau grouper and parrotfish can't be taken — and your captain will handle those releases for you.

Reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a towel, a change of clothes, and a camera. Wear a swimsuit or quick-dry clothing. Everything else is provided.
